To celebrate the evolution of our brand and the expansion of the Anchor creator community, we’ve made some visual updates and upgrades we think you’ll love. Here’s a closer look at what’s new!

Today, we’re excited to share a whole new brand identity for Anchor. We first introduced ourselves as “the easiest way to make a podcast” in 2015, when we were a tiny startup. Over the last few years, our creator community has expanded so much — 80 percent of all new Spotify podcasts are powered by Anchor — that we felt it was the right time to evolve the brand along with our ever-growing platform. Nothing about what you can do with Anchor is changing, but the podcasting experience looks better than ever.

‍Empowering people from around the world to…

There are a number of ways Spotify improves the podcast listening and discovery experience. Here’s how you can use them to your advantage.

Our goal at Anchor isn’t just to empower everyone to share their voice by starting a podcast; we want your show to reach as many people as possible, and for it to altogether thrive. With over 1 million show launches on Anchor in 2020 alone (which is great news!)–not to mention content outside of podcasts vying for people’s attention–it can be difficult to organically find an audience and keep them engaged. Likewise, it’s becoming tougher for listeners to discover their new favorites. …

Anchor creators helped us feel connected during a year no one will forget, while podcasting itself expanded like never before.

As 2020 draws to a close and we tiptoe into 2021, it’s time to focus on something that was actually good about this year.

Obviously, we couldn’t be talking about anything other than podcasts.

What would 2020 have sounded like without you, podcasters of the world? We don’t want to know, but yes, 2020, in fact, could’ve been worse. Podcasts were a bright spot, and podcast creators were more than a bright spot: You were difference makers. And there were more than a million of you new to podcasting this year.

Your willingness to share stories and ideas and narratives…

See how your unique stories kept us company and brought people together during a challenging year.

While 2020 certainly hasn’t been easy, creators around the world have continued to do what they do best: share their voices and help listeners feel more connected through their stories. We’re excited to help podcasters celebrate what they’ve been able to achieve amid a difficult year–it’s time for your 2020 Spotify Wrapped for Podcasters.

This year, for the first time, Anchor creators can access their Podcaster Wrapped directly through Anchor. Once you’re logged in, just click the banner at the top of your dashboard and you’ll be directed straight to your Wrapped experience. You can also tap the modal in…

As a podcaster, your voice is very influential.

That’s why the people who try to spread disinformation want to use it. You have the audience and the voice they lack — so you’re an ideal host for them to piggyback onto.

Ideally they want creators like you to repeat their rumors. Even if you don’t believe the rumor, but still discuss it, that still works for them as you are acting as a megaphone for their misinformation.

Unfortunately the more a rumor is discussed and repeated — no matter how false it is — the more likely people are to believe…

Anchor is rolling out the opportunity for creators in the U.S. to help increase voter registration by recording ads with Anchor Sponsorships.

In 2016, only 55% of voting-age citizens cast their ballots in the U.S. elections.

In 2020, your podcast can make a difference.

Starting today through November 3, Anchor is rolling out the opportunity for creators in the U.S. to help increase voter registration and strengthen participation in the 2020 election by recording ads with Anchor Sponsorships. By raising your voice and donating a few minutes to democracy, you can empower your listeners to do the same.

We’re teaming up with three nonprofit and nonpartisan organizations who are making the voting process easier, more informed, and more effective:

We’re talking with podcasters from all walks of life about their creative process, best practices, and why audio is one of the coolest ways to tell a story.

Podcasting lends itself to vulnerability. You can create wherever and whenever you feel most comfortable, with friends or by yourself, protected from the pressure of a live audience. It’s this freedom of expression that makes the medium a safe space for creators and listeners alike. Your podcast can be a place for unfiltered discussions about whatever you’re going through, because odds are, someone else is going through it too.

That’s the inspiration behind Teenager Therapy, a weekly podcast of candid conversations led by high schooler Gael and his classmates Isaac, Kayla, Thomas, and Mark.
